As you enter the compound of Ida’s house in Mawagala village, Uganda, you will first notice that there are in fact two houses in front of you. Like a ‘Before & After’ spread in a magazine, you observe the first house—a dilapidated mud hut with holes in the walls and a sinking roof. Then you turn to the second house—a newly constructed brick and plaster building, complete with a sturdy roof and cement foundation. Ida explains proudly that the Centre for Evangelism (CFE), an OAIC member church, constructed this new home for her and her family. The project, she says, has improved her life in unspeakable ways.
